Not sure if this really counts a “freshly squeezed” portion, seeing as he’s been featured here twice, but I’d still like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to a rising talent; DJ Massakerr.

Now, I’m one of the first to bitch and moan about the overwhelming number of bad mashes out there. I don’t mind a tasteful 3LAU bootie here and there, but if I get asked to “please, please check out my ‘Call Me Some Levels That I Used To Know’ mash” one more time, I will literally lose my mind. However, these compositions are a little different.
Massakerr has quickly built himself quite the following in Hamilton, Ontario. He’s been the resident DJ for Volv Marketing since the fall of 2010, and regularly plays for crowds approaching 1500 people, as well as opening for artists such as Basshunter, and LA Riots. He’s a household name at McMaster University, and it’s not difficult to see why.
While Massakerr undoubtedly has quite a proclivity for mashing, he plans to make a foray into original production quite soon, with a sound that’s been described as “hard hitting and danceable, like Dada Life, but a little smoother, like Swedish House Mafia”. Doesn’t sound too bad, in my opinion.
Additionally, he’s recently given birth to a ‘Massakerr Mondays’ segment, in order to create some hype for himself before any original releases. In a similar vein to Timeflies Tuesday, Massakerr plans to release some original content every Monday.
