We’ve got a fat selection of fresh, French sounds for you today but before I begin, I want to share our newest playlist: Parisian Nights. If you haven’t listened to it already, I highly recommend it. It’s stacked with thirty of some of the best tunes from around the world and certified dancefloor killers. Check it out above or here and hit the jump for the newest disco tunes!
We’ll get right into this bounce with the newest from Candyland. The California duo is usually known for their trapstar anthems, however they switch it up this time with a fantastic nu-disco edit of Adventure Club’s wompwomp tune “Need Your Heart”. It’s an absolute breath of fresh air and is picking up serious steam across them interwebz. We’ll follow that up with the newest joint from Poolside, who’s own “Daytime Disco” sounds have been the feel-good tunes of the DML summer. Let’s wash that down with another original production, this time from MVSLES. “Where You Are” has some futuristic pop elements to it, but it’s still got plenty of bounce. On a much more discoier (trademark pending), we’ve got the newest cut from Solidisco off the Fool’s Gold Vol. 2 mix that we put up last week. “Take It Back” is a nonstop roller coaster ride of sound from start to finish and is definitely my new go-to upbeat track. Now, as I was finishing up “Parisian Nights”, I noticed that the differences between disco and French house are starting to grow and soon, they will be two very distinct sounds. Take for example, RMNC’s “Disco Station Control”. While it definitely has some disco elements to it, it is as French House as you will ever find. By comparison, The French Cupcake’s take on Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” is far from similar yet equally, if not more, enjoyable. And to polish the week off strong, we’ve got the freshest tunes from French Express, Jonas Rathsman’s “Since I Don’t Have You”, a modern day love story about a man and his synthesizer.
